DRIVERS OF SMART GRID IN INDIA
The Indian power system is the 4th largest in the world, having an installed capacity of 205 GW. The target set for the 12th Five Year Plan (2012-17) covers generating 95 GW capacity (including renewable). The transmission grid in India has 765kV/400kV lines of 03,000 ckms and 220kV lines stretching to 132,000 ckms.
